Waynesboro Police Department Egging Vandalism Continues - March 7

Several Waynesboro neighborhoods continue to be plagued by repeated incidents of subjects riding in an unknown vehicle egging parked cars. The vandalism began in mid January and has continued in the Tree Streets and adjacent neighborhoods unabated except for a brief pause that ended last week. In many cases citizen’s vehicles have been hit by eggs several times during the last 45 days or so and in some cases only once. All total approximately 150-200 incidents may have occurred but an official number is difficult to tally due to some never being reported to the police. Most of the victims are able to wash off the egg before any damage occurs however there have been several cases where the egg has caused damage to the vehicle paint.

The department has ramped up efforts to interdict the vandals and has been deploying considerable resources and tools to the task. Any citizen who observes any suspicious vehicles or incidents in their neighborhoods, or who discovers their vehicle has been egged, are asked to contact police. Also anyone with information regarding these crimes is asked to contact the Department at 540-942-6675 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-3222017.
