Tuesday 27, 2007- On Old Parkersburg Turn Pike, a suspected arson was the cause of a forest fire. It is beloved that the fire was set the day before but the smoke was not seen because of a controlled burn in the same area.
It was reported on March 27 at about 1100am on Route 688
Crawford Mtn Augusta County. Two
Forest Service Engines, one Dozer and
Augusta Hot Shot Crew responed to the fire.
It was contained by 8pm on the 27th. Final size was 115 acres,
the fire burned within 50 yards of a hunting cabin
owned by Palmer Bradley, Staurts Draft,
Va.Mop up was completed on the fire on 3/28/07.
