August 25, 2007 - Rt. 11 near Mint Springs 1:30 am The State Police are not releasing the name of a 21 year old man that wrecked his motorcycle at speeds of about 100 mph. It started when a Augusta Co. deputy tryed to pull over the man traveling South, the driver then sped up went over a hill and by the time the deputy regained sight of the man, he had wrecked. The driver had suffered head trauma, Air Care was called but did not have a safe place to land at the Wreck so the man was taken to AMC then to UVA by helicopter. The State Police brought in a Wreck Reconstruction Expert to mark debree from the wreck.
