Storm Water Meeting In Waynesboro - August 15
The Waynesboro City Council held a meeting on Wednesday, The purpose of the meeting was to discuss with selected representatives from businesses, industries and residents concerning the proposed Storm Water Management Program and Storm Water Utility for Waynesboro.
The Waynesboro council needs $1.4 million a year from tax payers in the city. In several sessions, the council has been looking at storm water utility fees for homeowners could pay near $6 a month and they could be higher. For many business owners it could be $60 and up. Larger business and industry in the city would pay even more in fees.
City council says there are only two ways to fund the storm water fix
1) Either build a storm water financing into the general fund budget.
2) Set a utility fee.
