Three Adults Injured In Crash - July 6

Friday 6, 2007 - The Waynesboro Police Department is currently investigating a vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:07 am this morning on Hopeman Parkway at the intersection of Ivy St. Three adults were injured in the crash and two of them were airlifted from AMC to UVA by Helicopter.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a 2007 Chevy 2 dr. driven by Joshua W Snider, 21 of Lyndhurst VA was traveling east on Ivy when it collided with a 2001 Chrysler Van driven by John R Michaud, 34 of Waynesboro VA, that was traveling south on Hopeman Parkway. After the initial impact both vehicles left the roadway and the Chevy rolled over an undetermined number of times ejecting the driver while the Van struck a utility pole. Both the driver of the van, who was the single occupant of that vehicle, and a female passenger in the Chevy had to be extricated from the respective vehicles. Snider and his passenger were first transported to AMC but later were airlifted to UVA. Michaud was transported to AMC but no further information is available. Both occupants of the Chevy were wearing seatbelts however information is incomplete concerning the Van.

The cause of the crash and any charges related to it are pending further investigation.
