The Waynesboro Police Department is currently looking for Elwood Lee Smith, 37 of No Fixed Address, for abduction and domestic assault that occurred on 3-11-07 involving a family member. Subsequently, Smith was observed driving a vehicle by a Waynesboro officer on 5/14/07, after being reported to have left the scene of a disturbance call on Market Ave. The officer attempted to stop him; however he fled and finally abandoned the vehicle, running away on foot in the area of Wilson Ave near Florence Ave. Officers searched the area with negative results and later obtained additional warrants for him that included Driving While Suspended and Felony Eluding. Smith is described as a Black Male, 37 YOA, 5’10” 150lbs with severe buck teeth.
