CONDITIONS IMPROVING ON INTERSTATE 81
UPDATE: TRACTOR-TRAILER ACCIDENT NORTHBOUND ON I-81 BOTH LANES CLOSED IN AUGUSTA COUNTY
AUGUSTA COUNTY – An accident involving a tractor-trailer at mile marker 213 northbound on Interstate 81 has caused both lanes to be closed.
Motorists are being taken off Interstate 81 at Exit 213 ( Greenville ) and re-entering back on Interstate 81 at the on ramp at Exit 213.
The tractor-trailer is in the process of being loaded onto a wrecker. VDOT officials estimate one lane opening in an hour. The second lane will be open shortly after.
Motorists should call 511 for updates on the road closure.
