Two City Businesses Burglarized
Two city businesses were forcibly entered between 7:00 pm on March 27th 2007 and 03:34 am on March 28th, 2007.
Police responded to a burglar alarm at Mi Mercadito located at 220 N. Poplar Ave. at approximately 2:30 am on the 28th and found that a cinder block had been thrown through the window of business to gain entry. Further investigation revealed that a sum of money less than $200.00 had been removed from the cash register. Officers processed the scene and used a K-9 to conduct a track from the business to a nearby neighborhood where the track ended yielding more undisclosed clues.
Later, at about 3:34 am, while conducting business checks at Riverside Plaza on E. Broad Street, Officers discovered another B&E at Winston’s Hair Affair, located at 141- Q E. Broad St. Officers found that a brick had been thrown through a window in this case to gain entry but the owner could not find anything missing. Officers also processed this scene and recovered undisclosed evidence.
These cases remain under investigation.
