Lieutenant Paul D. Kvasnicka Jr. Promoted To Captain by State Police

APPOMATTOX: Effective August 10th 2007, Lieutenant Paul D. Kvasnicka Jr. of Division Three in Appomattox County is promoted to the rank of Captain and will remain at this location as the Division Three Commander.

Kvasnicka, 53, recently served as the Headquarters Lieutenant of Division Three in Appomattox. A native of Prince George County, Kvasnicka joined the

State Police in 1973 as a Dispatcher and was assigned to State Police Headquarters in Richmond. On November 1, 1975, he was transferred to the position of Trooper, graduated from the State Police Academy on July 2, 1976 and was assigned to Chesterfield County. Captain Kvasnicka has served the State Police for 33 years and was assigned as a supervisor to several locations around the State including the State Police Academy, Lexington, and Appomattox. In addition to his normal duties, Captain Kvasnicka is the coordinator of the Department’s Chaplaincy Program.

Captain Kvasnicka earned an Associates Degree in Administration of Justice from Southside Virginia Community College and graduated from the Administrative Officers Management Program at North Carolina State University.

Captain Kvasnicka has been married to his wife Sharon for 32 years. They have two daughters, Sharla Kvasnicka and Kelly Crowder. They have three grandsons, Gage, Gavin and Collin all of Appomattox. Captain Kvasnicka’s son-in law, Stanford Crowder, is currently serving his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army, stationed in Iraq.
