�We Are All Hokies�, a community vigil and fundraiser

Friday, April 20, 5:30 p.m. until �
Day of �Hokie Hope,� an alumni-led declaration of a national �Orange and Maroon Effect� day
A statewide Day of Mourning, as declared by Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine

WHERE:
Waynesboro High School, 1200 West Main St., Waynesboro, Va., football field

Reading of Nikki Giovanni poem
Prayer and Remarks by Rev. Kim Webster, St. John�s Episcopal Church
Reading of names of those deceased and remarks by VT students Amy and Emily Almarode
Release of 32 balloons by Virginia Tech students - one for each victim
Moment of Silence
Musical tribute
Closing Prayer by Jacqueline Horton, Staunton Police Department chaplain
Closing remarks

OTHER DETAILS:
Maroon/Orange/Black ribbons will be distributed.
Large banner available for community to sign - will be sent to Virginia Tech.

DONATIONS:
Donations will be accepted at the event for the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund - which was set up by the school to cover expenses related to comfort for families of those who lost loved ones in the shootings, counseling for those impacted by the tragedies, memorials to those who lost their lives and other incidental expenses. We are looking for a corporate sponsor to match the community�s donation at this event.
