NEWS RELEASE
On April 16, 2008 the Staunton Police Department responded to 1701 Springhill
Road for a reported stabbing. The victim, Michael Anthony Reed Jr., had been stabbed.
He was transported by the Staunton Augusta Rescue Squad to the Augusta Medical
Center and subsequently air-lifted to the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Jerome Parker Jr. of Staunton has been charged with one count of Malicious
Wounding and one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon. He was Incarcerated at the
Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
