Egging Persists in Waynesboro- Police Media Release -Feb. 6, 2007

February 6, 2007

Waynesboro Police have answered at least two dozen reports since January 15th of vehicles that had been splattered with eggs. The most recent calls came in this morning and like the majority of previous calls were in the Tree Streets area of the city. In addition, officers have responded to calls in neighborhoods adjacent to the Tree Streets such as Club Court, Mt. Vernon and Arch Ave etc. Most of the eggings that are discovered and cleaned off quickly result in no damage to the vehicles but on a few occasions there has been damage to the cars paint or finish.

Officers have intensified patrols in and around likely target areas and have enlisted the help of local businesses that sell eggs to report any suspicious activity.

Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to call the Waynesboro Police Department at 540-942-6675 or Crime stoppers at 1-800-322-2017.

Questions may be directed to Sgt. Kelly Walker at 540-942-6537 or e-mail walkerkl@ci.waynesboro.va.us
