Car Wreck Purple Cow Road - Feb. 16

PHOTO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5: The car went over in the embankment and had to be pulled out by a tow truck.

Friday Feb. 16, 2007 - 10:10 pm William Lipscomb lost control of the1998 Honda Accord he was driving hit mail box is in a telephone pole on Purple Cow Rd.. There was $5000 in damages. Mr. Lipscomb is charged with reckless driving. There were no injuries reported.

South Delphine Accident - Feb. 15

Thursday Feb. 15, 2007
– 4:30 pm on South Delphine near the I-64 exit south bound lanes, a Saturn driven by Thomas Garber hit a Dodge pickup truck. Mr. Garber failed to yield coming off the exit ramp hitting the truck. It caused the car to go into the median and the truck to go off onto the shoulder of the road. Mr. Garber is being charged with failing to yield. One person was sent to Augusta Medical Center for treatment of miner injuries.

Sliding On The Roads - Feb.14,

Wednesday Feb.14, 2007 – The road conditions in Augusta Co. remain slick as ice remained on some roads. Fender benders were reported across the county, like this one at the exit from Lowe's in Staunton. As the temperatures dropped in the evening, water on the roads froze making travel hard on drivers.

Car Wreck On North Delphine - Feb. 6, 2007

Tuesday Feb. 6, 2007 – 2:45 pm A Dooms’ fire truck driven by Joshua Major traveling on the 600 block of N. Delphine headed south was involved in an accident with a 1984 Oldsmobile, driven by Marcus Thomas. When the accident occurred the truck was operating in Emergency mode because it was called to an earlier incident involving a tractor trailer on 250E. Mr. Thomas’ vehicle was heading on east on 4th St. when it collided with the fire truck at the intersection of 4th and N. Delphine striking the fire engine on a rear panel causing damage to the front end of the car. Mr. Thomas was taken to Augusta Medical Center with unknown injuries. The incident is still currently under investigation.
