Drowning in Wanesboro - June 12

On Thursday June 12, 2008 at approximately 5:13pm the Waynesboro Police Department along with the Waynesboro Fire Department and Waynesboro First Aid Crew responded to a report of an a non-responsive person due to a drowning at 1625 Summit Drive. Paramedics and other Rescue personnel attempted to revive the victim but were unsuccessful. The deceased is identified as 58 year old Marilynn B. Lee of Waynesboro. The medical examiner’s office of Western Virginia was contacted and an autopsy will be conducted. At this point the police department is investigating the incident as an accident.
