Former WPD officer, Tom McCutcheon, is getting an award from his
current employer in Michigan. Please share this with our usual media outlets.

Deputy Tom McCutcheon of the Kent County Sheriff's Department in Grand
Rapids, Michigan, has been awarded their law enforcement Deputy of the
Year for 2007. Tom is the son of Waynesboro residents Mr. and Mrs.
Carl E. McCutcheon.
Tom graduated from Waynesboro HS in 1985 and, after college at Liberty
University, started his law enforcement career with the Waynesboro
Police Department from August of 1991 to August of 1993. Tom moved to
Michigan and has worked for the Kent County Sheriff's Office for the
past 14 years as a patrol deputy, field training officer, community
police officer and in his current assignment as a DARE officer.
Tom is married to his wife of 20 years, Tina, and they have five
children and one grandchild. Tom is active in the local community and
has coached varsity football and girl's softball at Comstock Park High
School where he coached the varsity girl's softball team to the
Michigan state finals last year.
