THREE CONTRACTS AWARDED IN THE STAUNTON DISTRICT



STAUNTON – On July 25, 2007, Virginia Department of Transportation Commissioner David Ekern approved three projects located in the VDOT Staunton District.



The Staunton District serves Clarke, Warren , Page, Frederick , Shenandoah, Rockingham, Augusta , Highland , Rockbridge, Alleghany, and Bath counties.



Adams Construction Company of Roanoke was awarded a $1,344,777.15 contract in Rockingham County on Interstate 81 northbound from mile marker 240 to mile marker 243. The work will be for asphalt overlay, rumble strip and pavement marking replacement and guardrail safety upgrades Monday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with a completion date set for Oct. 1, 2007.



B & S Contracting, Inc. of Staunton was awarded a $1,394,859.78 contract in Augusta County on Interstate 81 southbound from mile marker 217 (Mint Springs) to mile marker 213 (Greenville). The work will be for asphalt overlay, rumble strip and pavement marking replacement and guardrail safety upgrades Monday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with a completion date set for Oct. 1, 2007.



F. Clayton Plecker & Sons, Inc. of Millboro was awarded a $238,322.40 contract in Rockingham County on Route 939 from Route 765 to 0.355 mile north. The work will be for paving the roadway surface and grading with a completion date set for Nov. 1, 2007.
