I-81 back up in Augusta county - September 16

LEFT LANE NOW OPEN AT I-81 SOUTHBOUND ACCIDENT SITE IN AUGUSTA COUNTY



STAUNTON – The left lane is open at the Interstate 81 southbound accident site in Augusta County . Earlier today there was a tractor trailer accident on I-81, southbound at mile marker 213. Exit 213 is located at Route 11 in Greenville in Augusta County .

Motorists should be aware that the off-ramp at exit 213A remains closed. Travelers can exit I-81 at exit 213B and turn around to proceed on Route 11.

Motorists should still expect delays in this area.

The Virginia Department of Transportation Traffic Operation Center first reported the accident just after 7 a.m. today. A tractor trailer was involved in a vehicle fire. Currently the fire is out but operations to remove the tractor trailer and debris are being implemented.

I-81 SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC IS BACKED UP IN AUGUSTA COUNTY DUE TO TRACTOR TRAILER ACCIDENT



STAUNTON – A tractor trailer accident on Interstate 81, southbound at mile marker 213 has traffic backed up seven miles at 9:45 a.m. today. Traffic is being detoured at exit 217 located at Route 654 at Mint Spring. Traffic will proceed on Route 11 to exit 213B and enter the I-81 southbound lanes at that point. Exit 213 is located at Route 11 in Greenville in Augusta County .
