Staunton City Council work session

The Staunton City Council will conduct a work session on the proposed Fiscal Year 2009 city budget at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 21. The session will be held in the Caucus Room, first floor of Staunton City Hall, 116 West Beverley Street.

The work session will be for purposes of discussing the proposed budget submitted by City Manager Steve Owen. The full proposal is available on the city’s website at http://www.staunton.va.us/default.asp?pageID=80F9B684-A5A9-44B0-98C5-514718FA0A6C

Work sessions are open to the public but do not normally provide time for public comment. The public hearing on this budget will be held late this month or early in May, and will be advertised to the public. A FY 2009 budget is expected to be approved in May and will apply to the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008 and ending June 30, 2009.
